Yoga Teacher Training

Currently no trainings scheduled due to COVID19

When I decided to go through yoga teacher training, I was overwhelmed by all the programs that were available. The first thing I did was call and talk with Paola. That call changed my life. I chose to train with Paola and I have never looked back. My training with Paola was thorough and challenging in the best way possible. The program went far beyond the standards required by the Yoga Alliance, giving me a solid foundation to teach and the confidence that I could work with many different types of situations and people. The program’s strength comes directly from Paola and her mastery of biomechanics, anatomy, meaningful sequencing, her amazing changing knowledge of the Yoga Sutras and great attention to passing on the foundations of the TKV Desikachar lineage. I would highly recommend this teacher training knowing how it changed my life and now the many lives that I touch through yoga.

Graduates of BCHA's Yoga Teacher Training courses are eligible for certification by the Yoga Alliance at the 200 and 500 levels. Trainings are taught with a strong emphasis on anatomy and physiology. The style of yoga is from the lineage of TKV Desikachar. This lineage is strong in its use of yoga as a healing art. Originally intended to be taught one on one, this lineage favors small classes so that each student can optimize in personalized training from the instructor. These trainings are intended for any practitionaer of yoga who is wanting to deepen their practice. Not all graduates go on to teach, yet all graduates do have a life transforming experience. Expect your classes to be small and your practice to expand and grow.

200-Level Training

This training provides the basic framework for students to competently teach all levels group classes. Basic anatomy, physiology, breathing practices, and poses are taught. Sequencing is emphasized, especially as it relates to the effects and benefits/contraindications of each pose and set of poses. Select Yoga Sutras from the first two chapters will be studied.

500-Level Training

Paola brings incredible passion and knowledge to her practice and instruction. She has a deep understanding of the mechanics of human motion, a quick eye, and a guiding hand—and she is ready to share and impart this knowledge to her students. Through study with Paola, I not only learned the lineage and application of yoga as a whole, but also gained a much greater understanding of my own mechanics and mindset and how I can use the yoga practice to guide my own path.
